Powering the watch is Omega's top-tier caliber 563 movement used in Seamasters from the era, and one of the last superior 500's series movements used before Omega began trying to reduce their costs.
Along with the 565, it was one of the top two offerings of the 500 series. It has 17 jewels and a quick-setting date and is one of the finest mass-produced automatic movements from era.
The centerpiece of the dial is its wonderful technical dial. The uncommon two-tone dial has 1/5 second markings that served the needs of men who demanded precision timing for technical or sporting fields.
It measures approximately 34mm in diameter, roughly the same size as a Rolex Datejust.
It is 100% Omega and has just finished a true expertly done restoration. One the wrist it presents as mint condition. The case back has one area of aging around the very edge, and the case top presents as mint. The dial has been meticulously refinished - the printing could pass as Omega factory done to the naked eye.
It has just been fully overhauled by a Master Watchmaker. It winds smoothly, and it is keeping exceptionally accurate time, keeping time on par with a brand new Omega chronometer in our testing position.
For the finishing touch it has been equipped with a brand new calfskin leather strap making it ready for immediate enjoyment.
Included with the purchase is a one-year C.O.T. warranty on the movement and its function, a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate.
